Mesh Density in 3-D Models

If you do not have graphics turned on, you will not get the effect of this page.

These are three models of a sphere, in their 3D mesh form. These were drawn with 3D Studio Max. The sphere on the left has a mesh density of 10, the one in the middle has a mesh density of 15, while the one on the right has a mesh density of 20. As you can see, the higher mesh density produces a much more realistic-looking sphere. Note that the sphere is transparent except for the wire frame. It is difficult to determine which part of the mesh is actually in front.
